Comcast Internet Service Update

1/2/2019

DearLansdowne Village Greens Residents,

In an effort to keep the community updated on behind the scenes activity related to the transition of internet service from OpenBand to Comcast, the LVG Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Comcast is starting infrastructure modification within our development in January and are expected to complete the internet service transition by March 31, 2019.

In regards, the the roll out schedule for Comcast internet service and other services offered by Comcast, including video and phone service, look out for community wide and individual resident communications via email from Comcast in the coming days. To assist with communication, Comcast will launch a dedicated website for LVG which will offer near real time updates regarding progress and various communications; including FAQs. Comcast will soon announce dates when it representatives will be onsite at the clubhouse to answer and questions you may have about the roll out and discretionary services you may wish to evaluate beyond the basic internet service included int eh bulk buying agreement. Details regarding the dedicated website will be provided to all residents as soon as its available.

All
LVG residents recently received an email and letter from OpenBand regarding
changes to certain services provided within LVG. This
communication was specific to a notice of termination related to the following
services: Web Hosting, Third-Party Primary Interexchange Carrier (long
distance), Public Educational and Government (PEG) Access Channels, and Video
Systems (cable TV) services along with corresponding end dates. Any resident
who currently subscribes to any of these services from OpenBand should take
note of the details provided in those communications and contact OpenBand
directly to discuss if questions remain. It should be noted that while our bulk
buying agreement with Comcast is only for basic internet, there will be several
choices for video system services, including video services offered by Comcast
at competitively negotiated rates.

In the meantime, we suggest that you do not cancel OpenBand internet service until you have Comcast service active in your residence. As far as we understand, cancellation of service with OpenBand will take effect on the day you request termination form OpenBand. If you cancel service in the middle of a billing cycle, you should request a prorated bill up reflective of the date of service termination. LVG board of directors will also be coordinating with OpenBand for specific dates regarding bulk drop off of cable boxes and other equipment.

In short, there is no action to be taken at this time by resident relative to the Comcast transition until you receive further notice. We appreciate your continued patience throughout this transition.

Thank you,

LVG HOA Board of Directors
